Any suggestions?

kino does not seem to allow me to overlay audio over video. Looks like you
can splice videos end to end and that's it.

kdenlive seems good but is a little flakey, with transitions very flakey.

cinelerra - I have no idea what is going on there.

Thanks,

Pete

Avidemux and Avisynth can, IIRC, by the use of scripts, other than
that the only other software that I've come across is by TAB media
(http://www.zs4.net/) - try it is you dare, although their media
converter is pretty good...

As for cinelerra, have you got the correct URL, the old one seems to
just output mangled PHP source code;
http://www.heroinewarrior.com/cinelerra.php

I'll have a look.

Have used mjpegtools with glav to do some rough editing and removing noise.

Downloaded it and built it ok, just don't understand what it does. Can't
seem to get it to do anything useful, not even import and play a clip.
Perhaps there is a problem with it on myt pc but I can't see why.

Have a play with the "mix" audio filter on the FX tab.

I've not used that filter myself, but the user guide at
http://www.kinodv.org/docbook/ seems to indicate it can do
what you want.
